"Historia y Filosofía de las Matemáticas" (UNED - Spanish) - MrPanda - 01-18-2022 Yesterday I saw that UNED (National University of Distance Education, Spain), offered a: Posgraduate program in "Historia y Filosofía de las Matemáticas" that went from 2nd Dec 2021 to 18th May 2022, 6 ECTS, 180 euros. Maybe it could work at TESU for the BA Math? It could be useful for some that speak Spanish, if they offer it again, but I understand that it´s a longer course, in comparison to what some of you are used to take. https://formacionpermanente.uned.es/tp_actividad/idactividad/12601 RE: "Historia y Filosofía de las Matemáticas" (UNED - Spanish) - Flelm - 01-18-2022 I'd have to imagine it would cover MAT-301 and possibly another course in AOS electives? Yes, I wanted it to cover MAT-301, however, maybe it could cover two courses? The ECTS to US credits conversion is somehow consistent? How much credits would one get with 6 ECTS? 3? 5? RE: "Historia y Filosofía de las Matemáticas" (UNED - Spanish) - Flelm - 01-18-2022 Google tells me it's a 2:1 ECTS to Semester credits. So 6:3. Your results may vary, and the evaluation service is the only authority at the end of the day for transferring credits. RE: "Historia y Filosofía de las Matemáticas" (UNED - Spanish) - Kab - 01-20-2022 I can confirm that in my case the conversion ratio was: 2 ETC= 1 Credit in my evaluation. The course is worth 6ETC, so 3 credits. You need to show that you have a Bachelor, Curriculum Vitae and some math, history and philosophy knowledge. It is at Master level, as far as I understand. Is a postgraduate course. I guess that the course is in Spanish but some books are in English. Also is mainly History and Philosophy for what I can understand of the content. |
