Mass exodus for a Higher Passport Index - bjcheung77 - 12-05-2021

Hmm, interesting.  Seems many Indians (along with the Chinese, Russians, etc that are "high net worth individuals") are flocking to countries with a Higher Passport Index such as US, UK, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, etc... I always thought India was a country that allowed dual or multi citizenships?  I would keep the "other" citizenship if I could before gaining a "better one"...  Mass exodus: India sees rise in number of people surrendering citizenship (yahoo.com)

AFAIK India does not allow dual citizenship.

Taxation could also play a part. I don't know anything about India, but if you're a US citizen, it doesn't matter where you live - the IRS will find you unless you give up your US citizenship.
