BA in History - Taymass - 11-06-2021

I just completed my BLS last term and have enrolled to start the BA with History concentration in January. I'm looking to connect with anyone who has completed the degree or is in the process of doing so. Also I saw a post about the Spanish II course and wanted to know if anyone has done the SDS Spanish II and how that went! Thanks!

I'd got take Spanish 2 on Study.com. Spanish 2 on UMPI needs a lot of work someone else said a few weeks ago. There were a lot of problems with the class that were being worked on.

I have one more class to finish for the History BA at UMPI and I am working on Spanish 2 at Study.com (60% done). I was the one with the problems with the SPA 102 at UMPI. They should be fixing it so it might be ok in the future.

I have finished all of the requirements for the degree. My last class is just to fill in the 30 credit requirement.

The Study.com Spanish 2 is not easy but I am actually learning something. The UMPI class would have been a lot less work if it had been functional. Personally I prefer the harder class that is well tested and functional. In retrospect, I do wish I had taken Spanish 2 before starting and transferred it it.

Spanish 2 not going to be a walk in the park that's for sure.

Study.com quizzes are easy to score 100%.  Then you need to try to average 70% on the assignments.

If you can do that, then you only need 40% on the final exam to pass.  That will be what saves you if the final exam is in Spanish and you end up getting lost trying to figure out what things mean.

That's how I would approach it, just trying to pass the class and move on.  Drill the vocabulary using Quizlet.  You might need to hire a tutor to work on your pronunciation.  Another idea is to use a speech to text and make sure that it can understand your spoken Spanish because if a computer can't understand, a human can't either.

If you put in enough hours, around 2 weeks you should be able to get through the course.

This advice is for beginners in Spanish that haven't taken Spanish in brick and mortar school.
