It is not considered a nationally accredited institution because, as the page you linked to points out, it is not accredited by an organization recognized by the US Dept of Education as a valid accreditor.

The very first line of the link you posted says "Accreditation Service for International Schools, Colleges and Universities (ASIC) is not recognized by the United States Department of Education". What made you think that it means that Newlane has national accreditation?

Newlane University is now nationally accredited with DEAC https://directorysearch.deac.org/school/list.aspx
Let me know if you have any questions.

Their website looks as janky as heck, but it also looks like an interesting option. Almost tempted to apply for the heck of it.

Apparently they're working on other degree programs and expanding their offerings: https://www.degreeinfo.com/index.php?threads/newlane-university.57480/page-7#post-589534

A BA in Liberal Arts - Psychology, would be considered too different from a BA Psychology?

I am thinking of enrolling

No, we don't have a WIKI created for them as they're Nationally Accredited, not Regionally Accredited. I highly recommend you to review your previous thread on the three institutions I mentioned and linked you to, their WIKI and plans. I would skip NA institutions unless it's at the graduate level and have a program not available at RA institutions for cheap.
