Anderson University - competency-based program - NoStudentNoCry - 09-03-2021 Anderson University: https://andersonuniversity.edu/academics/flex-degree 5-week terms, students can take up to 4 classes per term. Cost: $2600 per term Degrees: BS in Human Services (with 3 different concentrations: Health Care Management, Gerontology, and Behavioral Health), BA in Criminal Justice, and RN to BSN. They accept CLEP and have 25% residency requirement. RE: Anderson University - competency-based program - rachel83az - 09-03-2021 If you can transfer in 75% of your degree, that leaves 10 classes. So you need at least 3 terms with them. $7800 isn't too bad if you specifically need one of those degrees. UMPI should be cheaper for Criminal Justice, though. RE: Anderson University - competency-based program - dfrecore - 09-05-2021 Just to let you know, I price all CBE programs by week, and this one is BY FAR the most expensive out there; $2600/5 weeks = $520/week. Just to put it into perspective, I'm choosing 6 other options at random: NAU Personalized Learning $115/wk Brandman MyPath $133/wk WGU $130-$148/wk UMPI YourPace $175/wk South Texas College $214/wk (out of state) Purdue Global ExcelTrack $250/wk So this one is more than double the previously most expensive programs. Let's also not forget that if you can't complete the maximum of 4 courses in a term, you have to take those into the next term, and without knowing how it's set up, you have no idea if this is even possible. So the MINIMUM you'll pay for a degree here is $7800, and you're possibly looking at $10,400 or even $13,000. Pretty risky if you ask me. UMPI is $1400 for an 8 week term so it's definitely cheaper. UMPI accepts up to 90 ACE credits as well. Few people would be able to complete 4 courses in 5 weeks, too. We already know how to complete a degree at UMPI inexpensively via Sophia and Study.com; and we KNOW that people are finishing 30+ credits in 2-3 terms. So this is just a much less risky proposition than Anderson. Not to mention cheaper. |
