TESU BSBA Accounting vs CPA tracks - dzaloum - 08-03-2021

Quick question,

Why does TESU provide these two different tracks? (See TESU Accounting vs CPA specific track) I live in NJ, where TESU is located, and as seen here, NJ does not say anything about the 2 extra required courses in place of the electives (the only difference between the two accounting tracks). I understand you would need 150 credits, so 30 extra, but those 2 courses are not 30 credits... The regular accounting track provides 24 total credits in accounting. I personally do not have CPA in mind, and am going for the Accounting AoS for BSBA.

Do you know why they provide the CPA track?

Other states have different requirements.

If you read the top of the page of the CPA track "Upon graduation, students can seamlessly integrate the program into the CPA and Master’s Track." They aren't trying to get you to 150cr of undergrad, they are getting you to a BSBA/Accounting with specific accounting courses and then move onto the Master's degree there.

I don't think that's abnormal BTW - I think that's what most schools do. Most aren't really set up for you to get an extra 30cr in the right areas; most don't even have the extra credits needed for that, they send you off for a master's degree instead.
