I think this may be more rumor than fact. I checked my WGU provided Google Drive account and it is still active with over 400 GB of videos, photos, and old school work on it. I contacted the school and they say while there has been some discussion on limiting the lifetime access, there are no plans (at this time) to make a change to current policy. I graduated a couple of months ago and I still have access so this appears to be accurate.
The original post from Reddit has been deleted so I couldn't ask the OP where they got their info from and I haven't been able to find anything else on the web about this. I copied a lot of items back to my computer just in case but if anyone finds out anything more, please post it here. Thanks.

While I can't comment on the Google drive thing, the wgu sub is full of unsubstantiated rumors that spiral out of control.

it's probably a rumor, but I guess it'st's always a good idea to backup your import docs and not rely on wgu to provide a free service forever.
