Any sources for inexpensive/nontraditional masters-level social work classes? - studyingfortests - 06-19-2021
Does anyone know of any inexpensive/nontraditional sources for graduate social work courses I could complete in advance of starting my MSW?
Most of the schools I am looking at will accept up to about 12 transfer credits, which could both speed things up and reduce cost. Anything under $300/credit hour would probably save me money.
What I'm running into is I have not, as yet, found any nontraditional (self-guided) masters-level courses. Maybe they don't exist?

Grad tuition under $300 is hard to come by except maybe in state tuition if you're a resident.

Oh, I figured it was a pipe dream. I was just hoping maybe there was some sort of Coopersmith-type alternative credit thing. I've found such a thing for masters-level graduate credits in the education field, and they have a few courses that might be close enough to social work that I could use them as electives. I was just hoping maybe there was something I didn't know about.

ACE credits don't really exist for grad school unfortunately. It would be AWESOME if this changed! FHSU grad is just under $300 per credit. Depending on what you want to do with the MSW you have to worry about licensing as well. Some states are WICKED picky. I live in one of those states that's picky about every little thing.....it's a pain!

Any MSW program that leads to eligibility for licensure must be accredited by CSWE. They will only accept CSWE accredited credits in transfer. All CSWE accredited Social Work programs can be found here
