Clarification on how Pell Grant works? - OP88 - 05-31-2021 From another thread: "Pell Grant Max is $6345. Full Time is 6 credits/term. You can get a full award of Pell Grant each term. The maximum Pell Grant you get is $2115 per term for 6 credits you take." TESU 12 weeks=1 term So is $2115 awarded every 6 credits? Meaning if I manage to complete 18 credits in 1 term I get the full award of $6345? Or do I get $2115 every term / 6 credits every 12 weeks even if I completed more than 6 credits in that term? Thank you! RE: Clarification on how Pell Grant works? - rachel83az - 05-31-2021 The second. The Pell Grant is (more or less) time-based. You are supposed to get X amount every semester. But, because TESU does things differently than other schools, it works out a little differently. Assuming everything in the other thread is still accurate, it'd be $2115 per term no matter if you completed 6 or 9 or 12 credits in a single term. Basically/Essentially, TESU has 4 terms a year, each term is 12 weeks in length. Full Time is 6 credits/term. You can get a full award of Pell Grant each term. The maximum Pell Grant you get is $2115 per term for 6 credits you take. You can and should contact TESU to spread the amount over 3 terms instead of 4." Thank you! So the reason why I'm confused was because of the above statement taken from the same thread, so if I could ask TESU to spread the amount over 3 terms instead of 4, couldn't I just ask TESU to spread the amount into 2 or even 1 term if I take all 18(9 credits per)in 2 terms/18 credits in 1 term?
