Is Sophia similar to Study in terms of course format and allow Open Book exams? - OP88 - 05-25-2021

Hello!

I've been eyeballing Study, Straighterline, and Sophia to earn some credits.

While initially I was sure I was going to go with Study for their bite size style learning, I found out that Staighterline allows you to have open book exams so easier to pass class. Then I read somewhere else that Sophia has similar course format as Study AND allow open book exams. Is that true?

I also prefer a no webcam at all if possible, it's just such an invasion of privacy....do any of the 3 require a webcam?

Thank you for your time!

Yes, correct.

If you need UL courses then Study.com is probably going to be the best way to go for most people. Sophia doesn't have UL credit. Neither does Straighterline. Coopersmith has UL but isn't accepted by some schools. Also, they require a live proctor instead of the recorded proctor like SDC. Personally, I prefer it the way SDC does it to the proctor that Coopersmith uses.
