I know an APRN Pyschiatric Prescriber who is in the DNP program.  She says it's a lot of work and she expects to make a ton of money when she's done.

I'm not sure that I'd want a Capella doctorate. But that's just my personal preference.

Crap-Hell-Ya! I'll take a doctorate from them any day for the price... when it comes to the doctorate level, even a Nationally Accredited degree would be amazing for me... I think most people who go for doctorates want that final frontier complete in their life or educational journey. Most will settle for a Bachelors and a vast number would settle for a Masters, only a small amount out of those will ever want a doctorate. It's not always for professional reasons, some for personal and educational goal that a doctorate level degree is what they're looking at. I think when I retire, I'll go for one or two PhD/Doctorates in other fields that I have interest in...

I always thought that if a Doctorate were to happen in this format it would be a DBA, but I thought it would be WGU doing it.

I'm crossing my fingers for WGU doing it.

This. I'd consider a Capella Doctorate if only to say "I've got a doctorate!" though this price isn't too amazing considering UCN or UCAM as other options. I'm also checking into one that's as cheap as UCN from a better school, if it pans out.

No dissertation? I can't see how this would be taken seriously.

UCN = Universidad Central de Nicaragua
UCAM = Catholic University of Murcia (Universidad Católica San Antonio de Murcia)

If you happen to be in a position where you need to have a doctorate evaluated, be aware that WES is not evaluating UCN degrees. I think UCAM is the same. I am not sure about other evaluation services. However, even if SpanTran, ECE, etc. do evaluate their degrees, some companies/institutions might only accept WES evaluations.

If you're only wanting a doctorate for your own edification, you clearly don't need to concern yourself with evaluations.
