This is completely off topic, but I'll ask anyways.... Has anyone heard anything (good or bad) about Thomas Cooley Law School in Lansing Michigan? Any info, no matter how small, will be helpful.

Seems cool enuff. I know a couple of people who graduated there. They're doing fine.

I am looking at going there in the fall.

They'll take you with an Associates if you score high enuff on the LSAT.

I gotta take CLEP A & I Lit and I'll have an Associates. So, I say go 4 it!

YAY...someone finally responded. Thanks Big Grin

Well actually, I applied there and plan on going in the Fall as well. I hear a few negatives about the school, regarding their ranking. So, I wanted to get an honest opinion from a local....

Ranking Scmanking!!

As long as they are accredited, I'm cool. If it ain't Harvard or Princeton, the rankings really don't matter.

And don't give me that resume' booster line. A law degree in itself is a heck of a resume booster, right.

I see that you are soon to be a Charter Oaks grad. My daughter will be doing that also. She will be trying for an individual studies concentration - largely English and Social Studies courses (History etc.) How hard is it to justify the concentration? How hard are the essays that they want? What are they looking for?

My Individual studies concentration is in Business & Healthcare Management. Supposedly, it's quite dooable to justify your concentration. They are simply looking at your wrinting skills and your ability to support and show reason for your choices. You have to write one essay and then anothey short answer about 100 or 300 words (I don't remember exactly). I just submitted mine and am waiting for approval (they say it can take about 4-8 weeks).

I was told to submit it early so if there's something wrong or they don't appprove it, you have time to redo it.

Hope that helps....Good luck Smile

I forgot to mention: Once I get my approval back (positive thinking), I'd be more than happy to let your see it for example purposes...Smile
