I think they're worth a few billion but wow, so quickly and they shot up to $4.3 billion worth in the last evaluation. Coursera has always had biometrics. It's how they issue verified certificates. The paid "verified" certificates always used biometrics back when Coursera was free (and not all tech). You could take it free for a certificate of completion, or upgrade to verified for a price, and that used biometrics to prove it was you doing the work. If you only get the Coursera certificate that says something like "Brought to you by Anytown University" then I think those are way too expensive. I randomly clicked on one of the certificates (Health Informatics). 7 months, 4 courses, $5,000... for 2 credits. Umm... NAH.
