Online Learning in Kansas - Alpha - 03-10-2021 It's safe to say that the people of Kansas are not big fans of online learning https://www.forbes.com/sites/dereknewton/2021/02/20/online-college-is-worth-just-half-an-in-person-education/ RE: Online Learning in Kansas - ss20ts - 03-10-2021 This article talks about an online class in Canada where the professor passed away the previous year. It was on the syllabus that he passed. I can honestly say I've had plenty of professors at B&M schools who worse at teaching than him. I've had several professors sit there and read the textbook to us for the entire class period. Then there's the one's who encourage to skip class because if there's no students in the classroom, he doesn't have to show and can stay in his office and drink. He hated when we showed up. Fridays were not a good day to attend class. Mondays weren't so good either. Plenty of professors on campus and in person suck. That's just a fact of every job out there. Once they get tenure they can do pretty much whatever they want. I really feel like I get more out of my classes online than I did in person. It's also up to me to put in the work and do the assignments. I'm also not 18-20 years old. Life isn't all about having fun when you're in your 40's....well for most people anyway. RE: Online Learning in Kansas - dfrecore - 03-10-2021 You know, if they actually thought online was worth half of in-person, then they should make any online courses 50% of in-person tuition, and if they closed campus at all, then they should have refunded 50% of everyone's tuition for any length of time they couldn't be on campus. |
