Possible Future DEAC University - harrypotter - 02-19-2021 An unaccredited non-profit U.S. university with an “ultra affordable” competency based BSBA just publicly launched their program. https://www.einnews.com/pr_news/535415824/new-online-university-announces-public-launch-with-ultra-affordable-business-degree https://www.toprock.org/ RE: Possible Future DEAC University - MNomadic - 02-19-2021 Interesting. The "hypertrack" option is more than double the price, despite being half the time(or less). Sounds like pay to play... Maybe the self paced "flex track" artificially lengthens your program to incentivize people to pony up more cash. RE: Possible Future DEAC University - bjcheung77 - 02-19-2021 Haha, I noticed that Hyper Track pricing too, most likely because that enrollment option has extra people-power requirements as there is a live teacher/tutor available and some other type of extra support if needed. It's an interesting concept, similar to the extra fees for some courses at say StraighterLine with some instructor available/led courses, it's not really taught by the instructor though, you're still self learning for the most part. Why does it “marks a turning point in higher education today”? RE: Possible Future DEAC University - dfrecore - 02-19-2021 No way do I want that school name on my resume!! Ugh. RE: Possible Future DEAC University - ss20ts - 02-19-2021 Sounds like an interesting concept, but it needs a lot of work. Not having any accreditation at all, who would pay for that degree? Overseas I can see, but in the US no way. I mean at least get NA out of the way so you look legit. RE: Possible Future DEAC University - MNomadic - 02-19-2021 Having a single fixed price competency based program like that could be an economical option for people that want the flexible, self paced option of WGU or another competency based program without the higher costs associated with paying for more than a few semesters. But of course accreditation would be a requirement for it to justify the cost. RE: Possible Future DEAC University - rachel83az - 02-20-2021 It would definitely need to be at least NA before I would even consider paying for such a degree. I like the flat-fee idea, though. I like the flat-fee idea, though. Same - NA is bare minimum, but flat fee is fantastic. RE: Possible Future DEAC University - Kab - 02-21-2021 Needs accreditation ! For this price you can go to a NA. |
