Am not sure how the 3 credits will work, but I signed up anyway since it's free.

It would probably only apply if you enroll in their university.
An interesting thing is that it says you get a "certificate" and not "certification."

Hmm, they're 3 Credit for Prior Learning Process - which means, it's getting credit after just passing an assessment of that knowledge.

Yeah... that sucks. Is there any way we can enroll as a non-degree student and get that 3 credit on transcript?
I have asked them if I can get the three credits as a non-degree student.
Let's wait for their response.

Do you think that it is their own "certificate", not google "certification"?

There aren't many details regarding how they're doing this but it's possible that you'll get an Acclaim badge at the very least: https://www.youracclaim.com/org/quickstart/badge/google-cloud-platform-associate-cloud-engineer-certification.1

Not quite the same thing. Those certificates are to be hosted on Coursera. https://grow.google/certificates/
This appears to be the correct certification: https://cloud.google.com/certification/cloud-engineer and I guess if you pass you get listed here: https://googlecloudcertified.credential.net/ The exam is normally $125.
