Another BSBA in General Management Planning Question - sheriff2gun - 12-12-2020

Got my academic review last week and was wondering your thoughts to plug the holes or if I should take a different route.  Currently finishing up Business Communication and Macro at SL.

Thanks Everyone!!

The holes can be filled in with Sophia or CSM Learn for the empty math slot + SDC. See https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Sample_TESU_BSBA_General_Management_Degree_Plan CSM Learn would be cheaper, Sophia would have Statistics instead of BUS-210.

ORAL COMM:
COM 120: Presentation Skills in the Work Place (Study.com)
COM 101: Public Speaking (Study.com)
Public Speaking (Sophia)

MATH (STATS):
STAT 101: Principles of Statistics (Study.com)
Intro to Statistics (Sophia)

FINANCE:
FIN 101: Principles of Finance (Study.com)
FIN 104: Financial Management (Study.com)
Principles of Finance (Sophia)

BUSINESS/SOCIETY:
BUS 120: International Business (Study.com)

As for the AOS, I'd suggest that you switch from GM to HR, since you already have 2 courses in that area (and I hate GM as a concentration, it's lame at TESU).

HR AOS (all through Study.com)
BUS 323: Organizational Theory (REQ)
BUS 307: Leadership and Organizational Behavior (REQ)
2 Electives from this list:
BUS 306: Strategic Human Resources Management
BUS 311: Project Management
PSY 301: Industrial/Organizational Psychology
BUS 319: Negotiations & Conflict Management

If you want to stick with GM, Study.com has everything you need to fulfill the requirements and get courses in 3 out of 4 areas (MAN and ACC are done, you just need to choose between FIN and MAR).

Your right.  I think I might like that option better!! Thanks.

One correction here:

Make sure to take BUS 308 Globalization and International Management which converts to MAN 372, and "N O T "

BUS 120 International Business, which is a LL course, and will not match on the degree plan as the same course.

It states that on the link to the degree forum above too! https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Sample_TESU_BSBA_General_Management_Degree_Plan#Part_I._Communications

TESU does not require that the course be UL and match their degree plan - this course WILL work for this requirement, MANY people on this forum have used it.

TESU lists only their own courses that will work in each area, and it may not be required that you match exactly.  For example, they will bring in LL for the entire Business Core, even though many of their own courses for that are UL (Management, Marketing, Finance, Int'l Business, Managerial Comm).

Sorry about that.  I did not know.  All I knew was what was suggested in the link.  Thank you that will help me too!!

RE: Another BSBA in General Management Planning Question - bjcheung77 - 12-16-2020

BSBA General Management you say? Well, I would suggest taking the BUS 120 International Business and the BUS 308 Globalization and International Management as they have overlapping course content, it's almost complete for the second UL course except for the exam and assignments. I would recommend doing overlapping courses as long as you hit 3 of 4 areas - Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Management.

Thank you, but they only needed one course in that subject.  Of course the BUS 120 is preferred over the BUS 308 as far as work, but I did not know that both would work equally.  I thought the degree plan only used the UL course.

RE: Another BSBA in General Management Planning Question - rachel83az - 12-16-2020

The degree plans are all works in progress and should definitely be confirmed before taking anything as gospel. In some instances, I may have overlooked something (sometimes obvious) by accident. (In fact, yesterday I realized I had forgotten to change the degree name a couple of times when copying a plan to use as a template. Ooops!) I will fix that section so students know they can choose between 120 and 308.
