Organizational Leadership - tpell1219 - 11-10-2020

Hi Everyone,

I’ve been slowly working towards a bachelors in organizational management from TESU. Slowly because I’m trying to do all of this debt free. I have completed a lot of my requirements but I have been second guessing my major. I really want something healthcare based and unfortunately I can’t get a BSBA in healthcare management fully by doing study.com/testing out. I’m really bummed about it. I recently stumbled across Charter Oak State College. I noticed that they have a Bachelors in Organizational Leadership with a
Focus in healthcare. I’m thinking this degree might be better for my career goals. COSC also has shorter terms which is more appealing. If anyone could give any advice that would be greatly appreciated. Below I listed the classes that I have completed/almost completed.  Can someone please do a degree evaluation for Charter Oak State College Bachelors in Organizational Leadership with a focus in healthcare.

Well you have the RA credits that COSC requires so that a bonus!

I'll leave you with these.....something more to think about....

Would you happen to know how many transfer credits WGU accepts? I have looked over their program before but didn’t inquire because it seemed like I would need to take many extra courses.

Hmm, what does your TESU BSBA Healthcare Management AOS look like? You've completed the 5 from Study.com, did any of those hit the requirements needed for the degree AOS? I don't really need to know the rest, it's the AOS you'll need help with... In regards to WGU, you should check their page: https://partners.wgu.edu/ and create a spreadsheet of what can be transferred and what can't...

Degrees you can get via test-out/alternative credits.

TESU BS in Organizational Management - doesn't exist
TESU BSBA in HCM - no
TESU BSBA in HRM/OM - yes

COSC BS in Organizational Leadership - no,
- HCA option - no

I would say that you should consider WGU - you can bring in 90cr max, but it really depends on which degree you choose as to the total number (they changed quite a bit this year).

Also, you might be better off doing a COSC degree with a concentration that you create yourself- a BSLS with concentrations in Health Care Management and Psych (or some other liberal arts concentration) should work.

This is what WGU sent me

Hi Tiffany,

I can't guarantee transfer credit for any of the courses listed below because we don't have official transcripts to verify the exact content or the grades received. And, WGU doesn't provide unofficial evaluations. However, based on the course titles alone, it appears you would need to complete the following courses, unless you have an AA or AS degree, which will waive all of the general education requirements.

-Survey of United States History
-Quantitative Analysis for Business
-Business Environment Applications 2: Process, Logistics and Operations
-Project Management
-Intro to HR Management
-Intro to Spreadsheets
-Finance Skills for Managers (a corporate finance course, different from accounting)
-maybe Information Technology Management Essentials (we'd need to verify course content for some of your current courses to determine if this course would be met with transfer credit)
-Innovative and Strategic Thinking
-maybe Emotional & Cultural Intelligence (we'd need to verify course content for some of your current courses to determine if this course would be met with transfer credit)

You would also need to complete the non-transferable courses (similar to upper-division courses that cannot be met with transfer credit).

The full list of transferable courses and the courses not eligible for transfer credit can be found here: https://partners.wgu.edu/Pages/BSBAHC.aspx

Please let me know if you have any questions.
