TESU -ASNSM Computer Science - dodek101 - 10-28-2020 I am missing some CS courses. Does anyone know what are they, and where to take them? Pls see attachment. RE: TESU -ASNSM Computer Science - rachel83az - 10-28-2020 You're going to want to try to complete TEEX Cyber 101 and Cyber 301 in the next 48 hours, if at all possible. Doable, but tricky. This will give you the 7 CS credits that you need to complete your degree. If you don't finish by early Friday, you may no longer be able to acquire the combined courses and the cybersecurity credits might not count for the ASNSM. I would start with 101 because that will give you 4 credits. If you don't manage to finish 301 and it becomes unavailable, it's much easier to get another 3 credits from somewhere else. https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/TEEX_Cybersecurity_Equivalencies RE: TESU -ASNSM Computer Science - dfrecore - 10-28-2020 (10-28-2020, 10:39 AM)rachel83az Wrote: You're going to want to try to complete TEEX Cyber 101 and Cyber 301 in the next 48 hours, if at all possible. I think I missed something - why do you have to finish by early Friday? What happens then? Because the ACE registry is supposed to switch over to Acclaim on Sunday. And we don't know if the combined courses are going to be available from TEEX at that time. So you want to finish by early Friday so that you can submit the request through the current ACE registry (hopefully) in time for TEEX to see and approve the request. If the combined courses become unavailable, all that will be left is the cybersecurity single credits that TESU likely won't count towards a CS degree. The module quizzes are all open book, not unlike Sophia. This makes it pretty easy to pass the quizzes. There are no proctored exams, final or otherwise. RE: TESU -ASNSM Computer Science - bjcheung77 - 10-28-2020 Hey dodek101 - If you haven't done so already, get a second monitor for multi-tasking. I finished all 3 in a long weekend... and back then, they were just 2 credits each course. I received an email from the TESU Academic advisor that he could not find a Non-Technical Cybersecurity Course. “I was able to plan the Cybersecurity for Business Professionals from TEEX onto your Academic Evaluation. I was unable to find the Non-Technical Cybersecurity Course.” RE: TESU -ASNSM Computer Science - rachel83az - 10-29-2020 They don't always know what they're doing in advising. For this reason, a lot of people try to avoid even talking with an advisor in the first place. Link them to this course; it's the one worth 4 credits: https://www.acenet.edu/National-Guide/Pages/Course.aspx?org=Texas+Engineering+Extension+Service&cid=fb7dec45-92c4-ea11-a812-000d3a378a3a |
