Research sources for writing assignments? - GizmoJack - 09-17-2020 I need some help with finding research sources for writing assignments. I can usually crank out a paper pretty quick but it often takes me weeks to cobble together enough credible sources to cite. Other than the internet and Google Scholar I don't have any good sources for research. There has to be a better way than this. I don't mind paying for a subscription if I have to but I don't know where to look to find the best value. All of us have to write papers with citations so any suggestions on what you guys use would be appreciated. RE: Research sources for writing assignments? - rachel83az - 09-17-2020 If you're fully enrolled at a university (but especially TESU, because I know that one) you should have access to things like EBSCO. Other than that, here are some sources: https://oer.deepwebaccess.com/oer/desktop/en/search.html https://oasis.geneseo.edu/index.php https://www.biodiversitylibrary.org/ https://www.biomedcentral.com/ https://core.ac.uk/ https://creativecommons.org/about/program-areas/education-oer/education-oer-resources/ https://dp.la/ https://archive.org/details/texts https://www.elsevier.com/open-access/open-access-journals https://eric.ed.gov/ https://doaj.org/ https://authorservices.wiley.com/open-research/open-access/browse-journals.html http://data.un.org/ https://www.tandfonline.com/openaccess/openjournals https://www.springeropen.com/ https://us.sagepub.com/en-us/nam/pure-gold-open-access-journals-at-sage https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/ RE: Research sources for writing assignments? - ctcarl - 09-17-2020 (09-17-2020, 10:45 AM)rachel83az Wrote: If you're fully enrolled at a university (but especially TESU, because I know that one) you should have access to things like EBSCO. Many classes provide documents in the class for the papers. Sometimes I use websites in addition to the scholarly journals. I try to use legit sites like yesterday I was writing a paper about something in IT and I came across an information page from Novell so I was able to use that in my paper. I use Science Direct a lot and occasionally find something on ProQuest. https://www.proquest.com/ RE: Research sources for writing assignments? - GizmoJack - 09-17-2020 (09-17-2020, 10:45 AM)rachel83az Wrote: If you're fully enrolled at a university (but especially TESU, because I know that one) you should have access to things like EBSCO. I'm still showing as an enrolled student at TESU but not currently taking any classes so no access to EBSCO ![]() RE: Research sources for writing assignments? - rachel83az - 09-17-2020 (09-17-2020, 11:10 AM)GizmoJack Wrote: Thanks Rachel, Log into myEdison. It's divided into 3 columns. In the middle column, look for the "My Resources" section. Click on "Educational". Access to EBSCOhost, ProQuest, and a couple other general references. RE: Research sources for writing assignments? - Tlm - 09-21-2020 You can also get your NJ State Library card if you have a TESU email address that still works. They have all of the databases. You can also link that to Google Scholar and it automatically loads access to articles from that source. The TESU email address is not considered proof of anything and they will actually ask that you provide a different email if you sign up using your TESU email (this happened to me). You don't get an ID until you are fully enrolled, not just an applicant. |
