Quote:UoPeople received WASC accreditation eligibility! While UofP is very inexpensive(with potential discounts for low income students), it has long been only NA and not RA which is enough to turn many potential students away. If they achieve RA(and maintain low costs), they could be a potential game changer for higher education, depending on how friendly they are with accepting alternative credits for transfer. RE: University of People to be RA in the future(potentially) - SweetSecret - 09-05-2020 The biggest issue will likely be the language barrier with administration (not the professors) leading too poor student support services. Additionally, the peer grading system needs to be changed because currently it causes students reporting plagiarism to be penalized rather than only penalizing the student at fault for plagiarism. I think that if they became an RA university, then they will also be a good source of RA credits. They really want you there for the full 4 years. I've seen many people not receive much in the way of transfer credit as well. Their setup is a bit odd. RE: University of People to be RA in the future(potentially) - nomaduser - 09-12-2020 This is a great deal! then we'll be able to take cheap courses on University of People and transfer the credits to other RA universities?? Possibly... You never have a 100% guarantee of credit transfer, even between RA schools, and you never have a 100% guarantee that a class from one school can be applied to specific program requirement from another school. Plus, as ss20ts said, UofPeople will likely only let people who matriculate into their degree programs take courses(besides their foundations/admittance courses). |
