RE: College courses - rachel83az - 08-29-2020

What degree are you taking that you need both physics and chemistry? I think they usually only require physics OR chemistry.

RE: College courses - natshar - 08-29-2020

Any reason you are taking ethics in the digital age at TESU and not transfer in some other ethics credit?

Also if you going to do 9 credits at TESU you should look into doing 16 credits instead because it will save you money. If you take at least 16 at TESU you don't have to pay the waiver fee.

It's aviation maintenance technology. They are requiring me to take both.

I cant find any other ethics class they are taking from study.com or straightliner.

It doesn't have to be those ethics. Sophias intro to ethics works. And there are ethics courses from study.com that work. That list is just an idea.

RE: College courses - bingo1 - 08-29-2020

Oh I didn't know that ,but how can I confirm if they will take that credit.

RE: College courses - rachel83az - 08-29-2020

Ah, okay, aviation maintenance tech makes sense. Chem I and Physics I are usually StraighterLine, just make sure that you order the kits before you purchase the classes. They can take a couple of weeks to arrive (especially right now) and you don't want to waste time paying for a class you can't do yet.

Sophia ($79/mo.) has Ethics and Intro to Psychology. Also, public speaking and English Comp II. Depending on how fast they are grading, you should be able to finish all 4 classes in just over a month. I'm not sure why you have intro to humanities listed; if that's for section C of your general eds then that's another course you can take at Sophia.

What is managerial communications for? I don't see this on the aviation degree. If it's another general ed, Sophia again.

You can do precalculus with ALEKS: https://www.aleks.com/about_aleks/ace_credit - It's $20 for a month of ALEKS.

American Government - InstantCert.com - $20 + $15 proctoring fee.

Physics II is going to have to come from a community college somewhere. I think one of the New Mexico ones has it for less than $100 per credit.

Keep in mind that the list of courses that TESU provides are specifically the courses at TESU. Unless you plan to take those courses at TESU, you should look for established transfer equivalencies (based on what others on the forum have done) to meet the broad requirement rather than look for specific courses to transfer in exactly to meet TESU courses. For example, assuming this is for your GenEd ethics requirement, pretty much any ethics course will fit the bill.

For example, people used to transfer in the Insurance Ethics course to meet the GenEd ethics requirement, despite TESU not having an insurance-related ethics course. It usually transferred in as PHI-384 since that is the closest equivalence in the TESU catalog.

The easiest way is to see what others have done. For example, download other people's degree plans or ask for course recommendations in the degree planning area.

Also, if you're an enrolled student at TESU (not in an applied state, but actually enrolled after having taken at least one class or paid the full-time flat-rate tuition fee) you can submit a request to pre-plan specific courses into your degree and they will confirm what they will come in as.

RE: College courses - ss20ts - 08-29-2020

Sophia has a few of the courses you need. Sophia is $79 a month and you can take as many courses as you can complete in a month. There's no limits unlike Study.com. The proctoring is easier too. You can take these at Sophia:

Introduction to Ethics - your ethics req

Introduction to Psychology - your psych req

Visual Communications - your humanities req

English Composition I & II - your English req

Public Speaking - your speaking req

This aviation degree plan at TESU will give you an idea of what transfers from Sophia to TESU.

Hey buddy, not trying to give you a hard time..   but a few days ago we had someone with your exact handle looking for ways to cheat on SL...one user checked the archives and turns out that previous bingo1 also was an aviation tech major as well with an A&P license...

I'm all for helping others, but can't stand a liar or cheat...either way if it is or isn't you.. wish you well in your studies-
