Project Management 435 - udi - 08-17-2020 I am at the VERY end and I was trying to get the BA in Computer science, but I am out of steam and don't feel like doing linear algebra which I started and quit nor the CMP-354 which I already did not pass. I think I just need MAN-435 for BS in Technical Studies. Are Saylor and Study.com the only options? Not sure if TESU will take the lower level course for the BS in Technical Studies degree. RE: Project Management 435 - tallpilot - 08-17-2020 I took project management from Study.com last month. It is fairly painless. The assignment is just a PowerPoint slide deck. Don't give up! RE: Project Management 435 - rachel83az - 08-17-2020 I agree, don't give up! If you need to take a break then take a break. How many more classes do you need for CS? There's no shame in switching to another degree but if you only need a couple of classes for a CS degree then you might want to take a step back for a bit, regroup, and try again. RE: Project Management 435 - udi - 08-17-2020 I just have the one course left for CS plus the capstone. I COULD take assembly code and the capstone at TESU. I would at least get federal aid that way (part-time) and I already know how to use assembly code. However, I'm thinking I could get a bachelor of science by doing the other one instead of the BA. I actually had an interview recently and the lady wanted to make the distinction between BA/BS. This has only happened once in my career. I was just thinking I could do BS in tech studies and get certificates so I could still have computer science or computer information systems poking the robots and the algorithms checking the resumes. How many more classes do you need for CS? Technical Studies requires chemistry and physics courses, you got those already? I'll be taking the CMP-354 by the end of this month. Did you read the Networking Basics Second Edition book? Study.com also has a practice course for that TECEP exam. With one course to go, what do you have to lose by trying it again? Looks like 150-200 vocabulary terms to master in that course. I got a 60% on the TESU practice exam, doesn't look too hard but we'll see soon. Also, I see a study guide out there: https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/studyguide-for-networking-basics-by-ciccarelli-patrick-isbn-9780470111291-cram101-textbook-reviews/1118712220 RE: Project Management 435 - udi - 08-17-2020 (08-17-2020, 02:35 PM)LevelUP Wrote:(08-17-2020, 01:19 PM)rachel83az Wrote: I agree, don't give up! If you need to take a break then take a break. How many more classes do you need for CS? Well, it was really hard because there was stuff on the test I hadn't seen anywhere. I did the Study.com TECEP exam and the Google IT Certificate. I should have done the CompTIA + certificate first and then taken the test at TESU, but ... I thought I needed to take Physics I Lab (I have Physics I already), but it looks like that was waived on my evaluation. I did just double check because I needed it at one point. I have a lot of courses and other degrees, so I'm not sure if that has something to do with it. BTW, I got 70% on the practice exam and it is not at all representative of what will be seen on the test as far as I'm concerned. I'm not really an IT person. People working in IT have a different opinion of the test. RE: Project Management 435 - natshar - 08-17-2020 you might already have the certificate in computer science done and an associates of computer science done as well. So at least you'd still have computer science stuff. Are you going for a business degree as well you have business courses in your signature. For example BA in math, BS in TS, BSBA in Accounting -- they all have different "B's" in front. Yeah, I might be able to get ASNSM in Computer Science... Haven't really thought about it. RE: Project Management 435 - rpmranger - 08-17-2020 No they will not take the lower level Project Managament for Tech studies (this degree is what I'm finishing up this year). Take Bus-311 at Study.com for MAN-435 equivalent. Just finished this course. Besides the tedious and mind numbing task of getting through around 90 freaking quizzes with 100%, it's not a difficult course. The presentation isn't bad. After the quizzes + project (that I spent a weekend on), I only needed 20 out of 100 on the Final exam to pass the course. Zero stress, even random guessing you could get that many points. Didn't study at all, just took the practice test once and got a surprisingly high score, then got almost the exact same score on the final. The questions were all different, but similar enough concepts. RE: Project Management 435 - allvia - 08-17-2020 It doesn't look like you need Project Management to come in as UL, as it is CORE not part of the Technical Discipline portion of the AOS - that would open you up to Sophia for Project Management which now comes into TESU as a LL version. I'd reach out to TESU advising and confirm of course that LL works before taking it - but TESU Core almost never needs to be UL (even though they always show that in their breakdowns) - https://www.tesu.edu/ast/programs/bs/technical-studies |
