Do changes to graduation fees affect students regardless of their catalogue year? - Malkina - 06-26-2020 For instance, I'm in the 2019-2020 catalogue. If the residency waiver fee and graduation fee are both raised in July, will I be subject to those changes, or will I still be able to pay the current prices ($2800 for residency waiver and $298 for graduation)? RE: Do changes to graduation fees affect students regardless of their catalogue year? - rachel83az - 06-26-2020 Being an enrolled student does not protect you from raises in credit prices, graduation fees, or residency waiver fees. The only protection it offers is from changes to the catalog itself. RE: Do changes to graduation fees affect students regardless of their catalogue year? - cerich67 - 06-26-2020 You can pay the $2800 residency waiver now and you will have one year from when you pay to apply for graduation. If you don't apply for graduation within the year you will need to pay the fee again before you apply to graduate. In fact when I saw your post I was reminded to pay it now before it goes up and save the $400. So I just did. That makes doing the rest of my course work real.. LOL RE: Do changes to graduation fees affect students regardless of their catalogue year? - Malkina - 06-26-2020 Thank you for your replies. Looks like it's a moot point as they updated the fees today https://www.tesu.edu/tuition/fees Does anybody know if maybe the webpage just got updated but the pricing changes don't actually go into effect until July 1st? Tuition and fees are subject to change." RE: Do changes to graduation fees affect students regardless of their catalogue year? - Malkina - 06-30-2020 TESU Office of Student Accounts has informed me that if the residency waiver fee is billed for 6/30/20 it will cost $2800. This is the last day it can be billed at that amount before the increase to $3192 tomorrow, July 1st. As others in the thread said, the residency waiver is good for 12 months, so if you think you can graduate with fewer than 16 credits in that time, get it billed today to save yourself $392. Thanks everybody for all your help. RE: Do changes to graduation fees affect students regardless of their catalogue year? - louise - 08-08-2020 Does anyone know if the residency waiver fee for an undergrad certificate is also now $3192? If so, that's ridiculous and more than doubled! I'll have to find an alternative option if so. Plus another $100 for certificate graduation. If you are adding the certificate to another degree, there should be no additional costs. Just one residency waiver & graduation fee. I have sent an email to TESU to get clarification because the residency waiver fee for a certificate used to be $1250 which I was fine with because I already have a BS from another college. I just want to switch careers and a certificate would be enough to do that. I certainly won't pay $3192 though. |
