how rigorous is the WGU BSCS? - sciencemathematics1 - 06-18-2020

Does anyone know how rigorous the WGU BS computer science is compared to computer science programs at a regular university? I am considering going to this program and trying to evaluate how rigorous it is.

This is the link to the program overview:

WGU has an innovative structure. But they are a real university. You still have to put in the effort and learn/know the material. If you're a fast learner (or already know the material) and are very disciplined, you'll save a ton of time and money. But anyone looking for an easy path won't find it here.

there's a reddit for people in or considering the program
https://www.reddit.com/r/WGU_CompSci/

you can browse it and see what people say

WGU has basically the same required courses as NYU
https://cs.nyu.edu/home/undergrad/major_programs.html

obviously NYU's courses will be more difficult
because NYU has due dates that that must be adhered to
so the material must be covered more quickly

and at NYU you'd be taking 3 or 4 courses at the same time where as with WGU you could finish one course before starting the next

on the reddit people have posted that they have finished and gotten jobs, but who knows how things will turn out considering the pandemic is still going and may even enter a 2nd phase in a month or even a 3rd phase in the winter
