Anyone an Alumni Ambassador? - bjcheung77 - 04-23-2020

Just wondering is anyone here an Alumni Ambassador for one of the Big 3 or any other colleges/universities such as the
Competency Based degree providers such as Brandman or WGU?
What do you get?  Are there any perks to being an ambassador, anyone know? hmm...

COSC: https://www.charteroak.edu/alumni/ambassadors.php
Excelsior: https://www.excelsior.edu/alumni/become-an-alumni-ambassador/
TESU: https://www.tesu.edu/alumni/support/ambassador
WGU: https://www.wgu.edu/alumni/stay-involved/apply-to-be-an-ambassador.html

There are so many schools with these type of programs, I haven't even tried being an ambassador for TESU but may want to.

I am a Walden Ambassador. Applicants can read more and sign up here: http://alumni.waldenu.edu/alumni-ambassadors/

That link mentions some community engagement opportunities, but I'm based in Beijing, and web searches suggest that they don't seem to be emphasizing recruitment here. There are some online communities you can join, and you can also refer others for 15% off of their tuition. Ambassadors receive no compensation for their time, but personal benefits do include 50% tuition reduction for future degrees:

"Alumni Ambassadors Savings
Walden Alumni Ambassadors who have completed a degree program can save 50% on tuition over the lifetime of your program when you return for your next degree or certificate program and start classes in 2020. May not be combined with other tuition reductions, unless specified in other offer."

I'm also a Tulane Alumni Interviewer, which just means I talk to international applicants during admissions season and find out a bit about them, why the college stands out to them, their hopes + dreams and the like. The interview reports provide some extra feedback to the admissions committee, but don't necessarily tip the balance either way. No compensation except hearing from the Future straight from the source and helping people find themselves.
