Calculus 3 - Need A Source - dharmastudios - 01-31-2020

So I need Calc 3 for my BA in Math via TESU. I submitted Westcott/Brandman - and they wont take it as calc 3. The eval for it came back as it being equivalent to calc 1, which seems really baloney to me, but hey.

So, I'm doing Coopersmith's linear algebra now, will be doing Calc 2 with Straighterline probably in a couple of weeks, and then I need Calc 3 from somewhere. UND has it for roughly $1400 which isn't any cheaper than doing it right through TESU.

Does anyone have anything that'd help here? Should I just bite the bullet and do it through TESU?

Maybe you should appeal the Calc 3 -> Calc 1 decision.

definitely appeal

as I said over here
westcott's calc 3 is similar to NYU's calc 3

and westcott's calc 3 is similar to TESU's calc 4

There are a lot of Calc 3 courses available if you do need another one. Be sure to check https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Sources_of_Credit
Maybe https://luna.edu/ MATH213 ? Be sure to appeal and check ...

West Texas A&M has a self-paced course for $699: https://www.wtamu.edu/academics/eod-self-paced-courses.aspx#CHEM

I'd appeal their decision though, first.

I did appeal, but the answer was rather quick. I was planning it, nor having taken it already, so maybe they didn't look at it honestly.

I'll contact them again next week and see, but in the meantime thank you all for additional sources!

You may get lucky and find a community college that offers Calc III online.

LSU distance learning offers it as a self-paced option for $866.

APUS (APU/AMU) offers it as an eight-week course for $920.

Also, I believe APUS offers all of the math courses you'll need for a BA in Mathematics at TESU - APUS offers a fully-online BS in Mathematics.

At $285 per credit, plus a $65 course fee, they'll be much cheaper than having to take the UL courses at TESU to compete a degree in Math.

Did anyone have any luck finding a Cal III similarly priced? Where did you take it in the end? I recently got both APU and Westcott rejected as well.

Sounds like we need an edit on this page unfortunately: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Sample_TESU_BA_Mathematics_Degree_Plan

Have you tried Oakton? I see that as an option... Strange, did they say why APU was rejected?
