I've Banned Amazon Logistics! - sanantone - 06-29-2019 I've received packages from UPS, DHS, USPS, and FedEx at my new apartment complex with no problems. For some reason, whenever Amazon decides to deliver its own packages, they get marked as lost, or I get a message saying that my address can't be found. How can you not find a high-rise apartment in the middle of a large city? After a few weeks, my packages get sent back to the warehouse, so they weren't really lost. I think Amazon is using independent carriers who deliver packages in their own cars. They have little incentive to do their job right. So, I called up Amazon customer service and had them put an alert on my account that says that Amazon Logistics is to never deliver my packages. I used to love fairly close to an Amazon warehouse and employees would often deliver my packages from their own cars on their way home from work. Not sure if they got OT pay or what. This has not happened now that I'm no longer near their warehouse, so I'm sure it was just because of the proximity. Amazon has employees who deliver in Amazon vans, and they have independent contractors. A few times, I had to give directions to people delivering packages from their cars. One time, someone's package was dropped off in front of my apartment, so I walked around the corner and sat it in front of their door. This is not to say that UPS doesn't have issues because they do, but I've never had so many packages "lost" in such a short period of time. I almost thought they were being stolen by the carriers. My sister just starting working for Amazon and said they have the option of making deliveries in their personal vehicles. They'll also hire people as independent contractors to do this; my sister asked our mom if she was interested. ![]() RE: I've Banned Amazon Logistics! - davewill - 07-01-2019 Just what we need, to make it normal that people in unmarked cars drive around carrying packages. Are you implying that the world isn't a perfect place where people have the purest of intentions? Surely you jest.. ![]() RE: I've Banned Amazon Logistics! - dfrecore - 07-02-2019 I'm not crazy about some rando showing up at my house with a package. Kind of strange. I prefer someone in a marked car/truck with a uniform to do the delivery, thank you very much. |
