Looking for direction AAS to BA/BS - FastPace - 02-22-2019 Hello All! Background: 2 Community College of the Air Force degrees. Munition Systems Tech(2W051) | Air & Space Operations Tech(1U071). Looking at the easiest/fastest way to a bachelors. Degree doesn’t matter just need one. After researching on here, I’m thinking Lib Arts through one of the big 3. Excelsior has a program that will accept 60 credits from a CCAF towards a Lib Arts degree. Anyone with some helpful info/insight?? TIA RE: Looking for direction AAS to BA/BS - MNomadic - 02-22-2019 Question 1: are you still active duty? RE: Looking for direction AAS to BA/BS - FastPace - 02-22-2019 Negative. I’ve been separated a few years. RE: Looking for direction AAS to BA/BS - MNomadic - 02-22-2019 (02-22-2019, 09:46 PM)FastPace Wrote: Negative. I’ve been separated a few years. Ok in that case, do you mind sharing your credits that you have so far, whether they be from military, college, CLEPs, etc? RE: Looking for direction AAS to BA/BS - bjcheung77 - 02-22-2019 Hey, I second listing all your credentials/credits that you currently have. You most likely are over half way with the Big 3 and WGU. If you are overseas, CLEP/MS wouldn't be an option, so you should get your LL credits with StraighterLine and the UL with Study.com - you can also use other options such as Saylor/Sophia if ever needed. List your credits first and we can create a BALS/BSBA template and you can decide to apply to whichever school would take the most transfer from the bulk of your credits. BTW, if you take a course from StraighterLine/Study.com, you are qualified for "free application" to Excelsior and get discounts at tuition/residency waiver at TESU. You may want to hold off applying until you get a degree plan in place, then apply to the school of choice... The Big 3 accept 114+ credits for transfer and Brandman/WGU up to 90 credits, they would be your best bets right now. RE: Looking for direction AAS to BA/BS - FastPace - 02-22-2019 CCAF: LMM 1101 Management 1 (3) / INT 5000 Journeyman (8) / LMM 1103 Military Studies 1 (3) / INT 7000 Craftsman (4) / EEO 1217 Air Weapons Controller Proced (6) McLennan CC: Govt 2306 Texas Govt (3) / Spch 1318 Interpersonal Comm (3) / Engl 1302 Fresh Comp II (3) / Soci 1301 Intro to Sociology (3) Hill College: Govt 2305 American Govt (3) / Engl 1301 Composition (3) Embry-Riddle: Spch 219 Speech (3) Wayland Baptist: Math 1300 Intermed Algebra (3) / Rlgn 1302 New Testament Hist (3) Columbia Southern: SLS 1000 Student Learning Success (3) / BCJ 2501 Criminology (3) CLEP: Analyzing & Interp Lit (6). I don’t believe this includes anything from my second CCAF Thanks for the insight bjcheung. Like I said, primarily going for speed/ease, maybe the Big 3 would be the best bet with more credits transferable? RE: Looking for direction AAS to BA/BS - MNomadic - 02-22-2019 If I recall, Excelsior and TESU both sometimes allow military/vets to apply for free. If so, I'd go ahead and apply to both and send all transcripts. They should be able to evaluate your credits and you can compare which one will be easier/quicker to accomplish. COSC may be a good option as well. I believe WGU also has free applications. RE: Looking for direction AAS to BA/BS - FastPace - 02-25-2019 Went ahead and sent transcript to TESU. Should be there tomorrow. |
