"Practical" Degree - basicunitoflife - 01-22-2019

Over the years, degrees and certificates that were considered "practical" are no longer. I'm currently trying to make a huge decision. I have no college credits and a part of me feels a longing for not only a degree, but a job to go along with it. Right now I have my eyes on nursing (community college), health information manager/health informaticsĀ (WGU), or psychosocial rehab (community college associate degree). Any advice or tips on where to start would be helpful.

Here is what I came up with so far.

Is a business degree "practical" from the Big 3? - basicunitoflife - 03-08-2019

In this day and age, is a business degree "practical"? Or are business degrees better for someone who already works as a manager, marketing, sales, etc. and just needs that pieces of paper to keep their job or get a raise? Do employers "look down" on degrees from the big 3?

From my experience, yes to being practical and no to employers looking down on degrees from the big 3.

The reputation from a school is partly based on their graduated students. I have seen people from the Big Three employed
in different companies with some degree of success. Why would employers look down, if the graduates properly perform
as employees.
