Study Material Costs - Sammy - 04-23-2006 I feel study material costs are the most valuable investment. That is why I didn't hesitate to sign-up with instantcert and also a reason I will purchase other study guides in addition to instantcert to make sure I pass an exam. I figure that I am already saving tremendous amounts of cash by getting credit through exams instead of expensive colleges, so I don't feel bad about $20 here-and-there. If I fix my own car and need to buy special tools to do the job, I don't feel bad about it so long as I save several hundred in the process. The same philosophy. So I do encourage people to pay to take practice tests online or get additional study material if they feel it will improve their score and chances to pass and also boost their confidence. It is a small price to pay for the large future benefits. I know some people that will say no to instantcert when I mention the $20/month and I just shrug and shake my head! http://www.mbsdirect.net/ http://direct.mbsbooks.com/cgi-vb/nDadoptions.mac/top?FVCUSNO=25547&FVGRPNO= A cheap way to get college textbooks is to look up college courses at the above sites (TESC) and find the current text book they are using for courses. Then go to Amazon and look up used texts of older editions and you can often find excellent books for less than $5! I hope this helps others meet their goals.

I also use cheapestbookprice.com, which searches many sites (including amazon and half) for the cheapest book available. Using one of the intricate and highly complex methods of statistical analysis I learned for the DANTES Statistics exam, I can tell you that your annual savings deviate from the mean by like....a bazillion percent...maybe even more! hilarious Study Material Costs - ShotoJuku - 04-24-2006 In the long run, comparing a regular/traditional classroom style course that includes registration, books, time/fuel going to and from plus homework time any any unforseeable costs, IC @ $20.00 per month is a bargin!! Study Material Costs - Sammy - 04-24-2006 Agreed and congradulations on your "champion" status.hilarious Study Material Costs - Cold_navy - 04-25-2006 Here is some math for you... Excelsior charges anywhere from $615 - $680 per Class (3 credit hours) InstantCert charges $20 Per month (Love the site Steve) The cost of a CLEP test is $50 (free for Military) Now lets add it up. If you passed ONE CLEP test with InstantCert you'd be saving $545 - $610 per Class. And that's on the high side. If you're in the Military and don't have to pay exam fees, then by passing only ONE CLEP test, InstantCert will pay for itself for 30 Months!!!!!!!!! Ok, that's enough excitement for me.... gotta get back to studying..... GOOD LUCK EVERYONE, COLD |
