Ok so I am alittle confused about what I am reading about Study.com. I have seen people post about using this site to study for CLEP and DSST test, but I have also read on the site that they have courses that are ACE accredited. Can someone please help explain this to me. What exactly would I be paying for? Using the site as another study guide (I already use instant cert) or be able to go through their courses and take an exam that is not CLEP or DSST. thanks for the help.

If you pay for the college accelerator membership ($199/month) you get to finish up to 2 ACE(or NCCRS) approved courses per month(you can pay extra to finish more courses than that). Some people also use those courses to prep for CLEP, DSST and others.

If you're already using intstacert, you shouldn't need to use study.com as well(for CLEP studying) though there are a large variety of ACE and NCCRS courses available on study.com(almost 200) including a decent amount of UL courses, so most people around here do take at least some of their courses.

If you do want more prep materials in addition to instantcert, check out modernstates.

You can use SDC for both. You'll need to check the SDC course beforehand to see if it's approved for ACE credit ... not all SDC courses are. The main difference is in the plan price you pay ($39.99 Basic, $59.99 Premium, or $199 College Accelerator). If you want to earn ACE credit, you'll need a College Accelerator plan. If you're prepping for an exam, either the Basic or Premium will give you access to the lessons but only Premium gives you access to their tests, quizzes, tracking, coaching, etc.

Coaching? Is that something new?

You could use study.com as a prep for other exams like CLEP. But for that, you don’t need the $ 199 College accelerator package. Study.com also offers you the opportunity to complete courses, take online proctored exams with them and earn ACE credits. This is what you gain from the college accelerator package.

I think they refer to coaching as the "get help on this subject" feature, which is really just a ticket to their CS team. If CS can't answer it, questions can be routed to the course developers as well. That's how I ended up getting feedback from the person who designed the final exam for the Systems Analysis course.

I'm not sure. I just saw it listed under what was included in the Premium plan.
