TESU PLA-100-Intro Prior Learning Assessment - vetvso - 10-07-2018 I am considering taking the PLA next month, and adding most of the classes I need to finish my TESU degree. Since I only need 1 Upper level, and 1 lower level along with English comp 2 and the capstone. I have tuition covered for the next few months, and it might help me get a few classes added in I don't have time to fulfill. Has anyone ever done a PLA for the TESU BALS-Social sciences? RE: TESU PLA-100-Intro Prior Learning Assessment - MNomadic - 10-07-2018 What courses are you trying to PLA? RE: TESU PLA-100-Intro Prior Learning Assessment - vetvso - 10-07-2018 I have 25 years of semiconductor equipment technical training and I'm thinking about having them put into a PLA. along with my HAM radio license. RE: TESU PLA-100-Intro Prior Learning Assessment - dfrecore - 10-07-2018 A PLA is probably going to take longer than a class (you mentioned not having time to take a class). It also depends on what they consider the course: the semiconductor may come in as Natural Sciences, but it may also just come in as a free elective - not something I'd spend the time doing a PLA for. RE: TESU PLA-100-Intro Prior Learning Assessment - vetvso - 10-07-2018 Yes I don't need any free electives. RE: TESU PLA-100-Intro Prior Learning Assessment - zzzz24 - 10-07-2018 I have lot's of work experience and prior learning outside of college as well, but looking at the time investment to go through the whole PLA process, doing a couple of online courses seems the quicker route. I agree. Pla can be a good option for some hard to get, specific courses, but usually, if there's a CLEP/DSST/ACE/NCCRS/TECEP/etc option that can fill the requirement, it will be the better option. |
