TESU BALS Help - dukun8ter - 09-25-2018 Hi all! I'm new here but I've been browsing for a while. I currently have 59.50/120 (BALS) to graduate and most of these units were prior CC or law enforcement. I was hoping someone could help me make a degree plan. I tried to access the Degreeforum Wiki for some plans, but for some reason it's not opening up for me. I am currently active duty Army and waiting to go to flight school so I am trying to knock out any CLEP/DSST exams before I start. Is it still possible to get a degree using only CLEP/DSST (with the exception of the cornerstone and capstone credits required)? The following is from my Academic Evaluation: Anything in green has not yet been submitted to TESU. Credits required ** = classes not applied toward degree: CLEP/DSST completed: College Comp - 6 units Here's to your health - 3 Units Other College (all semester credits): Written Comm (3 needed): ENGL 102 Critical Reasoning - 3 units Oral Comm (3 needed): Qualitative Lit: Math 113 College Algebra - 3 units Info Lit (3 needed): Diversity (3 needed): Ethics (3 needed): Civic Engagement (3 needed): Human Cultures (3 needed): HIST 173 U.S. History since 1876 - 3 units CLSC 101 Greek Mythology - 3 units THEA 122 Theatre for the 21st Century - 3 units Natural World (4 needed): TES - 100 (1 needed): Additional GE Electives (16 needed): Math 111 Trigonometry - 3 units Upper Level (15 needed): Liberal Studies (3 needed): Comm 110 Interpersonal Communication - 3 units CIS C111 Intro to Info Sys/PGM - 3 units Math 119A Calculus - 3 units PSY 100 Intro to Psych - 3 units Electives: CJ G064 Police Academy - 23 units CJ G078 Public Safety Dispatcher - 6.5 units Additional Units: ENGR 101 Intro to Engineering Profession - 1 unit** CJ G065 Police Academy Hlth/Fitness - 2 units** Hum G102 Introduction to Art - 3 units BIOL C102 Introduction to Ana/Phys - 3units COOP G104 Cooperative Work Exp - 4 units SOC G110 Intro Marriage and Family - 3 units will be taking Principles of Management and Intro to World Religions this Thursday** (I'm aiming for 2 a week until I start training) JST (military transcript): Basic Training - 6 credits lower level WOCS - 3 credits lower level I will be doing the following in the next few months: Aviation WOBC - 9 credits upper level SERE - 3 credits lower level Flight school - 12-15 credits upper level I'd appreciate any tips and advice toward getting any 4-yr degree faster. Sorry if it's messy, I'll redo it when I get home. RE: TESU BALS Help - dfrecore - 09-26-2018 CLEP College Comp - Written Comm req DSST Public Speaking - Oral Comm req DSST World Religions, CLEP A&I Lit - Info Lit req CLEP Sociology, DSST Anthropology - Diversity req DSST Ethics in America, Ethics in Tech - Ethics req CLEP American Govt - Civic Engagement req CLEP Any Science; DSST EnviSci, Astron, Geol, Computers, MIS, Cybersecurity - Nat World Tons of options for Knowledge of Human cultures, GE Electives DSST Substance Abuse, History of the Soviet Union, Cybersecurity - all UL will work in AOS RE: TESU BALS Help - Johmford - 09-26-2018 You can use these to fulfill the UL requirements: Forensic Science and Science of Nutrition were from SDC and World Geog was from the CC, but everything else was a nice and easy to study for DSST. Since you have the law enforcement experience see how an AAS in criminal justice would fit too while you are at it. Thanks for the heads up! I didn't even think about that. Luckily I knocked out 2 SDC courses and added that to my collection of degrees. |
