Dept of Education "Higher Ed Innovation Challenge" Please Vote! - bsimi - 08-31-2018

All,

The Dept of Education recently held an "Innovation Challenge" called the "Reimagining the Higher Education Ecosystem". It is wonderful that the govt is actually thinking about a new way to think about higher education, including using alternative credit.

As it turns out, our team at JetBlue was selected as one of 25 finalists. We entered a program that we created at JetBlue (called JetBlue Scholars) that uses Straighterline, Sophia, Study.com and others, in partnership with TESU, to help our employees get a college degree. Over 150 employees have received a degree through JetBlue Scholars (and TESU), and there are 750 more in the program now.

This is where we need your help. The "innovation challenge" is now open for public vote and the top two vote-getters will be chosen as a winner. Since everyone on this forum is likely a fan of alternative credit programs, and it would help us all if such programs got more government support, it would be AWESOME if you could "vote" for our program.

Our program is called "Inspire". Take a look at it (and any others you find interesting), and if you like what we are doing please vote for us. There are a few steps it takes to register, and once you do, then you get 1000 "edu-coins" to "invest" in projects you like, with a maximum of 500 per project. We would really appreciate you voting with 500 coins for "Inspire".

Thanks!!

Fellow Degreeforum members,

If you have a chance, it would be AWESOME if you could help the "Inspire" team get more votes. Currently we have the 7th highest number of votes (out of 25), but the only the top two are guaranteed to win.

Our program is an example of how employers can use alternative credit providers (like Study.com, Straigherline, Sophia) to pay for a full college degree through TESU. If we win this Dept of Education challenge, we will help get more public (and government) support for alternative credit.
