Calc 1 Platform and Difficulty: Study.Com vs. StraighterLine ? - acamp - 07-10-2018 Good morning! For those who have successfully completed Calculus 1, if you completed it through study.com or StraighterLine, can you post the experience you had? Difficulty, platform, understanding the material through those two providers, etc. Thanks all. Have a great Tuesday! RE: Calc 1 Platform and Difficulty: Study.Com vs. StraighterLine ? - MNomadic - 07-10-2018 I took it through study.com It was a pain in the but. Sometimes quizzes didn't match the videos. Almost never provided any answer explanations. It is a TERRIBLE way to learn calculus. The final, however seemed very easy compared to the material. If one does take SDC calc 1, I recommend they pretty much learn it all using Khan or another source ahead of time to save themselves some headaches and fly through the course. I've tried considering study.com too, but ended up trying http://www.finishcollegefast.com/clep_products/math/calculus_clep.html their calculus guide has been a great tool for me. Hope this helps even though it is not in your choices. Thanks and goodluck! Did you end up taking the Calc CLEP? If so, how did it go? Did you use any other materials to study or just that site? And also, how was your prior math knowledge before studying? Thanks in advance! If you need to move on to Calc II or higher take the SL one but supplement with other sources. I'm taking it right now and exams dont match up with content but thinkwell teaches the concepts really nicely. |
