TESU ASBA Open course option - Mab81 - 06-22-2018 Has anyone seen this? So you would just pay for the TECEP at the end I guess? I wonder what a 'portfolio' is - it says: "The Option enables students to take open courses at no cost and then apply what they learned in those open courses by successfully completing a portfolio assessment or the University's credit-by-exam program, TECEP®." https://www.tesu.edu/business/asba/open-course-option But it looks like they charge you the same amount of tuition as if you were taking their own classes? https://www.tesu.edu/business/asba/open-course-tuition-info RE: TESU ASBA Open course option - MNomadic - 06-22-2018 Yes you still pay full price for any TESU classes, TECEPS, and other fees. That's basically just showing how you can use some Saylor courses for credit via ACE/NCCRS, PLA, and to study for TECEPS. There are much better and cheaper ways to go about it. Although, as some would point out, it's not very economical to pursue an Associate's at TESU unless it's at the same time as a Bachelors. RE: TESU ASBA Open course option - dfrecore - 06-22-2018 This has been up for a while, and we don't recommend it. Obviously you can do it, but there are SO many more options than this. RE: TESU ASBA Open course option - bjcheung77 - 06-22-2018 As mentioned, there are so many different ways of getting credit. TECEPS are TESU's own credit by exam, the only course you should take at TESU is their Capstone to finish the degree. You can take courses from the usual providers, such as Saylor, StraighterLine, Study.com or if you prefer testing at a location, do the Modern States/CLEP exams. |
