3 Credit Hours in 10 Minutes - quigongene - 06-09-2018 WGU allows Microsoft Technical Associate (MTA) exams to take the place of certain classes in their curriculum. Today I had the chance to get a MTA exam (Networking Essentials) for free at a local IT Pro Camp. It was 31 questions, and I finished (and passed) it in 10 minutes. Not sure there's any faster credits than that :-) RE: 3 Credit Hours in 10 Minutes - dfrecore - 06-09-2018 (06-09-2018, 06:25 PM)quigongene Wrote: WGU allows Microsoft Technical Associate (MTA) exams to take the place of certain classes in their curriculum. I think it might be really fast to take the ACTFL OPIc exam. I took 4 CLEP/DSST exams in 2 hours 20 minutes once, that included the time to stop, go out to the front, pay for a new exam, come in and get set up, each time for all 4 exams, so on average each took about 25 minutes. RE: 3 Credit Hours in 10 Minutes - Learnfordegree - 06-10-2018 Dfrecore, I have 6 Lower level and 6 Upper level credits from an ACTFL OPI. I could take another OPI for a different language (don't know fluently so score will be lower). Do you think it can be used for TESU BALS despite the fact I already have 12 language testing credits? It depends on which exams you passed. List them, and I'll see if I know the course equivalencies. RE: 3 Credit Hours in 10 Minutes - Learnfordegree - 06-10-2018 It was ACTFL OPI (LTI conducted the telephone testing) - Score Advanced High- Language is Malayalam. The other language I could try is Hindi but I am not fluent in it. I would like to explore a Business/management focus for the BALS, if not a general studies BALS would be fine too. Sorry I misread that. I thought you meant that you took a different exam for the same language (like CLEP). No, different languages don't get the same course numbers, so you'd be safe there. I personally wouldn't waste my time on the BALS with GM concentration. If an employer requires a business degree, this won't cut it. If they don't require a business degree, then why bother? RE: 3 Credit Hours in 10 Minutes - Learnfordegree - 06-11-2018 Thank you Dfrecore for the info. I will work on BALS then. If you can get credit for another degree, I would definitely do that. But, I might try to gain some fluency while doing other courses, because I'd want those UL credits if possible. RE: 3 Credit Hours in 10 Minutes - homeschoolmom1 - 06-11-2018 quigongene, when did you pass the MTA exam? As far as I can tell, it has expired for ACE credit as of 02/28/17. Just some friendly heads up, and best of luck to you! RE: 3 Credit Hours in 10 Minutes - quigongene - 06-11-2018 WGU still accepts them, no ACE required!!! |
