Quick check of study.com courses for TESU BSBA - camjenks - 04-04-2018

I'm going for the BSBA CIS at TESU. I just received notice that I got the Study.com guardian scholarship. I want to get a quick check of the courses I have planned to make sure they will fulfill the requirements I'm expecting.

Accounting 102: Intro to Managerial Accounting (alternative: Saylor.org BUS105: Managerial Accounting)
Finance 101: Principles of Finance
Business 308: Globalization & International Management
Business 113: Business Communication (alternative: Saylor.org BUS210: Corporate Communication)

I only have 3 courses at study.com, so 1 of the above will have to be from Saylor instead (because they're the cheapest...). All suggestions or corrections are welcome.

I also wanted to find out if courses sent to TESU directly from Study.com will be graded so they influence the GPA or if they are pass/fail. The remaining business credits should all be from CLEPS. I asked a similar question the other day and found out all ACE credits are pass/fail, but these seem like they may be different since they're not going through ACE.

Thanks to everyone for helping me figure this out. I feel overwhelmed but I would never have gotten this far without you all

You said you only have 3 courses at Study, but with the Guardian scholarship, you get up to 6 courses for free. You get 2 a month for 3 months - one of which has to be the Personal Finance course. So you could do all 4 of those at Study.com and still have one free left over.

Courses sent to TESU directly from Study.com etc. will be NOT graded and they will NOT influence the GPA.
Only classes taken at TESU (for some that is just their capstone) will be graded and that grade will be your GPA.

Just a clarification, all graded courses will give you a GPA, but each school has their own GPA (in most instanced, and definitely at TESU).  So, TESU will not bring over a GPA from another school (except to verify that you had a 2.0).  If you get a certain GPA at school A, and then transfer to School B, you will have 2 GPA's.  If you were to apply to a program later than wanted your GPA, you would send them both transcripts, and they would calculate your combined GPA.

Replace BUS 308 with BUS 108, it's an easier course, and you don't need any UL courses in the Core.

I guess I had misread the information. That's good news. Thanks!

You may want to consider using that one last free study.com course for Business 309: Digital Marketing & Advertising. It comes in as 3 UL as MAR-441 : Marketing with Digital and Social Media, and it does work in the CIS AOS.
