Degree Plan Course Help - MrBossmanJr - 04-03-2018 I received my TESU evaluation back and it looks like I need more than just a couple courses. Attached is the evaluation, but it looks bad because excel doesn't translate the website well. I was wondering what are some quick courses I could do for Human Cultures - 8 credits Additional General Education Electives - 9 credits Liberal Studies (Upper Level) - 6 credits RE: Degree Plan Course Help - dfrecore - 04-03-2018 You need to ask why the ELC, ELD, and ELT courses down in "other courses" which are all UL, would not be allowed in the AOS. ELE is in there, I would think those would be as well. You can also try looking at your courses by switching to the BS in Technical Studies. I think you might come out better with that, although you'd have to do Chem I & II, or Physics I & II. But you'd have all of your UL courses in the AOS. You can do this in the MyEdison area (looking at the evaluation, and then doing a "what if I changed my major to XXX"). And, you can repost that here but I would use something other than Excel, like a pdf or word. RE: Degree Plan Course Help - MrBossmanJr - 04-03-2018 Thanks. I will send them an e-mail this afternoon. Attached is the one for my Technical Studies. It looks a bit worse. RE: Degree Plan Course Help - dfrecore - 04-03-2018 (04-03-2018, 10:19 AM)MrBossmanJr Wrote: Thanks. It's cut off on both the left and right sides so you can't see it all. RE: Degree Plan Course Help - MrBossmanJr - 04-03-2018 Sorry, here is an updated version. I think the orientation was the issue due the TESU site formatting. RE: Degree Plan Course Help - dfrecore - 04-03-2018 The BS in TS is better in some ways, worse in others. All of your UL requirements are met, and you only need Project Management and the capstone (Current Trends & Applications) to finish that out. I would contact TESU and ask about the courses that I suggested you ask about, and see if those can go into the AOS for the BALS. If not, then I think you need to plan out both the degrees, including costs and time, and see which is better. You're going to need to take more courses for the BALS, but they can all be done cheaply through the different means (Study.com, Shmoop, etc.). For the BS in TS, you're going to have to figure out the science requirement, but I don't think that will slow you down at all. I think it boils down to which degree will be the most useful to you. RE: Degree Plan Course Help - MrBossmanJr - 04-04-2018 Seems like I need English 2, American Gov (which I'm working on), Statistics, two sciences with lab, Project Management, and finally the capstone. I wonder if they'll take my technical writing and move it to english 2 and fill human culture with us history I. When dfrecore said "The BS in TS is better in some ways, worse in others. All of your UL requirements are met, and you only need Project Management and the capstone (Current Trends & Applications) to finish that out." I'm quite certain she meant in the AOS only. All your tough to get credits are done - that puts you ahead. The toughest (& likely a bit costly) for you to find a fill will be those two sciences. And remember the two sciences w/lab are very particular that they be a I & II in either chemistry or Physics for the BS in TS. Check your local state colleges, I know in my state they run summer course specials - quicker course time frames and reduced tuition (They want to boost summer enrollments) RE: Degree Plan Course Help - dfrecore - 04-04-2018 I would definitely contact them and ask about Technical Writing in place of English 2! From what we've seen, it looks like Technical Writing only works as English 2 for people on the 2018 catalog. |
