Any spreadsheets for Associate's degrees? - xjarhead1999 - 03-16-2018
As the title states, are there any spreadsheets already created for any Associates degree paths? What's the quickest/cheapest/easiest one to get? Doesn't matter what it's for, I just need an associate's degree in something. Preferably something that will accept a lot of alternate/nontraditional credits. I currently have 43 credits with 9 more coming by the end of the month. I should have most, if not all general education classes already taken care of.
I am currently working on a bachelor's degree in business administration at Ashford. The soonest I can finish there is next July or August. I will need the degree for my career path. Transferring isn't really an option as my employer and Ashford have some agreement and it's not costing me a dime.
Due to some shuffling of people at work, a position is coming open soon. I have to have at least an associate's degree to get the job. Normally it requires a specific one but the higher ups said as long as I can provide anything they will accept my resume.

There are a couple AA options at https://www.dropbox.com/sh/9766o66mkeh1wb4/AACa_woj4eCPgmveVzmUxnGPa?dl=0 They're fewer credits but looks like they're not all that much cheaper than a BA. Still, if you already have some credits, maybe that'll help?

Have you attended a regionally accredited school? The BOG AAS degree is quick for anyone who has 12 credits from an RA school. Or if you don't, you might be able to obtain them in 8 weeks (summer session).

Since Ashford is RA, you should be able to transfer enough credits to Pierpont to get the BOG AAS. Search the forum for Pierpont for more info.

I agree that the Pierpont AAS is the cheapest (free), but they are notorious for not getting the degree to you right away.
COSC has a General AA, and will take your credits - but they're speciifc, and require a cornerstone (3 months to complete I think).
EC has a AA in Business, and will take your credits - but they also have a capstone (3 months).
TESU has an ASBA - but I think they'll require a cornerstone if you don't have any study.com courses. On the other hand, it can be completed in a matter of hours, so it's worth a shot.
Your best bet is to post all of the credits you have, and what you're taking, and we can see if a plan is easy to come up with at one of those schools.

Based on your situation, I too think the Pierpont Associate degree would be perfect and super low cost. But, I do have some TESU AA plans that some of the homeschooling parents in my FB group use for their teens. I'm happy to share them- they may not be exactly what you're looking for since they are based around 4 years of high school, but either way, if they can help you, all the better. The plans I put together use Saylor, Straighterline, or CLEP as their foundation, and based on the fees at the time I put those together, you're looking at about $3800 or more. Pierpont can be just a few hundred.

Thanks everyone. I'll update with a post of what credits I have so far and currently taking. I know different schools will transfer things differently but I'll also say what they transferred to at Ashford.
Ashford only allows 9 nontraditional credits to transfer into the major, if they allowed more I could get done faster. I'm finishing the class I'm on now then have science next. After that I'm doing the 9 classes for the major with them. So I'm looking at another 16-18 months total with them.

Both schools had given me 10 credits for my time in the Marines so I am working under the assumption of 10 elective credits there

I have a couple of other study.com classes I have had approved for some of my major requirements. As I have a long time with them I can put these off a bit.
Anything jumping out at anyone? Something I could knock out with a few study.com classes?

With all those credits, you could probably get a BALS at TESU for almost the same price and effort as an AA, unless you go with the Pierpont option. Just fill out a few things with Shmoop and CLEP your "Intellectual and Practical Skills" section.
