Straigherline Downgrade at TESU - armstrongsubero - 03-15-2018

Hey did you guys notice SL has no UL credit for TESU anymore? Microbiology and Organizational Behavior have both been downgraded. Where are we to get UL credits now!? I'm praying Shmoop professional writing goes onto my eval before it is downgraded! Just to be safe I'm doing ecommerce at Shmoop as well, I read somewhere it's UL.

Shmoop E-Commerce came in as CIS-360 on at least one evaluation so far.

I saw the change on the SL website showing Org Behavior coming in as MAN212, but I haven't seen anyone report that on an evaluation yet. That is one of the UL courses on my list so I'll probably need to find something else once we're sure this is in effect.

I sent my transcript on 27/2 I hope that I finish Shmoop E-Commerce in time to it will be added along with the old transcript Cry

Tons of other options for UL credit inexpensively (many are actually less expensive than SL). TEEX, The Institutes, Shmoop, Saylor, Study.com, Davar, ACTFL, TECEP, DSST, UExcel, CSU-Global...I could go on.

RE: Straigherline Downgrade at TESU - armstrongsubero - 03-16-2018

I know, but it seems like the pool is disappearing, when I started Study.com and SL had UL courses, and now theu are no longer options. TEEX might not make out the rest of the year at the rate it's going with short renewals (Remember ALEKS was doing the same thing?) it seems like we have more credit sources but less UL, I hope Shmoop stay's UL.

RE: Straigherline Downgrade at TESU - dfrecore - 03-16-2018

When I started, Study.com didn't exist! There are so many MORE options now then there used to be, it's crazy. And Study.com has tons of UL courses! 40 of them to be exact.

I guess you guys are right...there are a lot coming to think about it. Idk, I was jsut hoping TESU wasn't on a "downgrading" streak where they target all the course providers, like first study, then SL, I was thinking they would go down the line like that...guess no need to panic, it's just a shame though cause I bought both courses as a backup in case I dint finish Shmoop, so now that's money wasted Sad

They may actually be on a downgrading streak, it wouldn't surprise me.  But, even if that were to happen, there are still tons of options that are actual UL coursework.

Although if they get ahold of Shmoop, you can forget those UL English courses since none of Shmoop's English/Literature courses are ACE/NCCRS-recommended for UL.

I would contact SL and ask for a refund and tell them the reason.

RE: Straigherline Downgrade at TESU - Ideas - 03-16-2018

I think disappearing test-out UL is a real concern. CSU-G is great, but on the more expensive side. It costs as much or more than many CC courses. UExcel/DSST involve going to test centers. For me the DSST center is kind of far. The places like DSST and UExcel don't seem to add new exams often. Hopefully Shmoop and some other providers release more UL. Shmoop seems to be pretty fast at adding new courses.

I know being international, that is a problem for me as well, DSST is not an option for me, and UExcel is also trouble to write, and yeah they are expensive, SL and Shmoop are the Cheapest right now, I really, really home Shmoop dosen't downgrade, I dont mind them becoming proctored if it means they don't downgrade.
