What's the best/cheapest option to satisfy Excelsior writing requirement? - camjenks - 02-25-2018 Excelsior doesn't accept CLEP writing tests and their version if almost $500. I know there are options on SL, Study.com, etc. But I can't really find anything on their website stating what they accept. So what are your recommendations? So far I've only done Cleps through Modern States and IT certifications for my job. I really need to spend as little money as possible. Also, their requirements mention that writing has to be within the first 13 credits attempted? Is that only after I enroll or should I make sure to get the writing out of the way before doing more cleps? Thanks RE: What's the best/cheapest option to satisfy Excelsior writing requirement? - 22gunsonfire - 02-25-2018 I used StraighterLine for Comp I + II to fulfill my requirements at Excelsior. If I had completed both in a month it would have been a steal at approx 200$ with membership. I loathe writing and procrastinated so I ended up paying closer to 550$. Still totally worth it as the two classes together traditionally would have cost 1500-3000$. Conversely, a friend of mine is using Study.com for his English requirements. So I've got confirmation that Excelsior will accept credit from either organization. I'll look into those 2 and see which looks better for me. I have not heard if they will accept the TECEP's, that might be something to look at. 2 exams, easy, and obviously fast. |
