How does English 310: Short Stories convert to credit at TESU? - Pelican - 01-17-2018
I can't find this course listed on the latest conversion chart. Does anyone know how this credit converts? As upper level or lower level?

It's LL at ACE, so probably LL. But we don't know for sure.

I think this is one of those courses Study.com is working towards UL credit, like their 305 course. You'll have to email TESU advising and hope for the best. It'll take a while or UL status if it isn't already.

TESU hasn't evaluated it yet, but I'm sure with the changes on 12/31, it will be LL (since it's ACE-recommended as LL). That being said, any time Study.com give a course a 300+ number, they intended it as an UL course, and with the other ones they had that were 300+ but ACE-recommended as LL, they went back through and made changes to the courses to make them ACE-recommended as UL (they just did a bunch in the last couple of months). So I expect that it will be re-evaluated in the next year and switch to UL at that point.

I was told today that Study.com's Short Stories 310 will be accepted by TESU as ENG 137 Introduction to Short Stories. So lower level, in spite of the required essays.

The reason it comes in as LL is because ACE has it as LL. So Study.com needs to do some additional work to get an UL ACE recommendation. My guess is they are doing so.

Study.com, please get your Short Stories course improved so it can be UL and/or get another English UL course approved soon
