TESU - Moving Credits Into the Proper Slots - quigongene - 12-19-2017

I sent TESU my ACE and JST transcripts after applying at TESU.  For a BALS with no concentration, they put the Institutes Ethics Course under upper level Liberal Studies instead of under the Ethics requirement.  They also placed much of my JST under free electives, when I think some of it will fit into Gen Eds.  How do I fix these anomalies?  Email?  And should I wait until I get my CLEP and other transcripts in first?

I believe you just email them and if it's a lot of moving things around (as mine will be) perhaps make an appointment to talk on the phone. They can make the moves while you talk. I think I've heard others say that's a good way to do it. So yes, I'd wait until they have the bulk of your credits uploaded.

Sometimes things get moved when the other transcripts come in and displace things, but the cases you're describing don't sound like they would. I'd send an email detailing where you want each course to go.

When your other transcripts get sent in, it may displace things again, I would wait until the ACE/CLEP and other transcripts get evaluated, then ask them to change it around by email. What you may also want to do is check the "What If" option to see how they would take your JST credits for the BS Tech Studies. Be patient, wait for the credits to all sit in place before you move them.

Whenever I see the JST or other service people credentials, that's the first degree option I recommend because the AOS, they accept LL credits, if you already have 30, that would have taken up the AOS entirely. Furthermore, I think a BS Tech Studies sounds better than BA Liberal Studies.

BTW, what credits are missing for your BALS, do you have a lot of "other" credits at the bottom? You can attach or paste the info here and we can see what can be done.

You should post your eval here, we can tell you what can be moved and what can't.

For sure you want the Ethics course put in Ethics, because a 2cr course isn't helpful in the AOS unless you have a 1cr or 4cr course in there as well. If everything is 3cr, then it's useless.

From personal experience, that thing's a crapshoot.

I have been told that people do it, and the computer does it.

I *think* there is a way they can lock a course into a slot.

All I've done is email an academic advisor, and they rearrange it as much as they can (of course, you know that some things can't go in electives, and some things get ruled ineligible, etc)

At the end of the day, it means nothing if you've already got it mapped out.

I tried to make it as clean as possible. This is my current eval from Walkingstick. The rest of my credits are in my sig. Thanks in advance :-)

Have you tried the "What If" option to see how they would take your JST credits for the BS Tech Studies? You might want to do the exact same thing, copy/paste the info you get as you have about 23 credits in the AOS for Tech Studies. It'll be cool to know at least what can happen...

Error
This program is not associated with any catalogs for which your institution permits program evaluations over the Web.

I was selecting the wrong one....72 credits gained currently for BSTS....interesting.

I took a crack at a spreadsheet for BSTS...
