Biology w/ Lab - masrat858 - 11-17-2017

Could anyone please direct me to a biology course, with lab? It could be any from a regionally-accredited university, but I would prefer something that's either self-paced or accelerated.

Would ACE work for you? That can be done at SL.

The cheapest that is a regular course would be New Mexico Junior College. (Not self paced and not accelerated unless you take it during summer.) It think it's about $400-$425 for everything except for materials/books.

ACE can’t work, unfortunately. Thank you; I’ll look into that!

Any other suggestions?

Well, Clovis Community College is about the same as NMJC but costs a bit more.

Depending on where you live, you might get in-state tuition somewhere.

I believe UNE has self-paced but it's probably like $800-$1000+. A lot of the self-paced are $250/credit or more. Maybe someone else will know one for $750 or so.

I would suggest searching all the colleges and universities in your home state for a Biology I and Biology II course. Then find the ones from those that are either online or self-paced as some of the labs require in-person experiments and are class based. If you further want to, you can decide on the ones that have a shorter 8-week term instead of a 12/16 week term.

Rio Salado has Bio 100 and it has a lab. Not sure of the cost. They aren't self-paced, but have 8-wk or 16-wk terms, and they start monthly.

Science labs are tricky. You're going to pay one way or another - either with time or with dollars.

If you're using cost as your main criteria, you have to give up the self-paced notion and go with your own state's community college system. There are online options in every state, and likely will be the cheapest option. (but still look at New Mexico to be sure).

If you want self-paced or accelerated, you're going to need a bigger budget. UNE is a great option. I did mine through Ocean County College, and while not self-paced, they have accelerated semesters and most of the sciences are offered that way (for sure biology is). Summer sessions are only 5 weeks, and they have variations of short semesters for spring/fall. Beyond the traditional 16 week, they have 8 and 12 week offerings too.

If you can go to Boston, Harvard University has a January bio class that meets two nights per week for 3 weeks. https://canvas.harvard.edu/courses/34851/assignments/syllabus

Why can't you do the Straighterline biology + lab?

OP said no ACE.
