PhD programs to accept me? - Ideas - 11-15-2017
I want a PhD mostly just because. Not really for career reasons.
Are there some RA programs that accept everyone, or most people? I won't have good relevant work experience and references from that field, because my work will be in another field.
My Masters would be in a different field if that's allowed. Would a Masters from Nations University be acceptable to them? If not, I guess I would get another Masters degree first.

@sanantone I am sure will have some relatable experience to be shared. Liberty University would welcome you with a NU Masters & there have been some mentions of others within the forum or in the sister forum. As for an RA Masters, there are countless universities that will welcome you with outside fields, minimal, to no prerequisites & no GRE required. Add GRE and the list gets considerably larger - the University of the Cumberlands comes to mind (they are in my top 3)

Many NA schools will accept you as well into their PHD/Doctorate degrees. It all depends on what degree you're looking into. There are other schools not only the ones in the US, but international schools as well. You can go for some school such as an international school, here's an example of a program I want to get into from an overseas school.
They're accredited by the British Accreditation Council (they were accredited by ACICS UK prior). Just like WGU, the business degree programs are candidate status for ACBSP. I'm just waiting for them to get ACBSP accredited status before I apply to this program below as it's under their Business progtams. You can get into just about any for-profit school or non-traditional non-profit as long as you meet the GPA requirements. There are too many to list. Many programs don't require a related master's degree. Some will require general work experience rather than experience in a certain field.
Decide what you want to major in and search for schools that offer these programs online. It would be easier to direct you to schools if we knew what you want to major in, but an NA master's will limit your options. Normally, you won't need references from a related field. The exception would be healthcare programs.

"Just because" is a horrible reason for pursuing the PhD. I believe it gets a lot of people stuck, especially when they move from coursework to the dissertation proposal.
Doctoral work must be driven; it doesn't just happen.
While most for-profit universities are open-enrollment (they accept all qualified applicants), your previous academic work will still be an issue. If you don't have a relevant master's, for example, some schools won't admit you. Others will but will require you to take additional coursework.
Accreditation will be a big issue. Many regionally accredited schools will not accept a master's from a nationally accredited school. But don't be deterred by a school's published admission policies; such things are often negotiated individually.
Tread carefully and with purpose. The doctorate you do will define you for the rest of your professional life. (If it won't, you probably shouldn't pursue it.)

Charisma University has been an applicant for ACBSP accreditation for years with no visible progress. It's hard to take that seriously. Also, Charisma is legally allowed to operate as a university by its territorial government, but it is not recognized as a university by its sovereign government, the UK. This, in turn, brings into serious question the utility of its degrees for academic and employment purposes. One would be cautioned to research this matter carefully.

A master's is not necessarily a prerequisite for a PhD, so if it's a different field, it may have little bearing on the admissions process anyway.

looking for a school, any school, that would accept you for a PhD program regardless of the subject seems backwards to me
it seems you should have a specific subject you're interested in and then look for a school that offers it that would accept you

There aren't a lot of online PhD programs that don't require a masters.

I will only enroll in a PhD program if I'm motivated and committed. I haven't decided on what yet, because I'm not even done with my Bachelor's. I was just checking that my Masters plan won't ruin all my chances for a PhD. I'm glad to know that some online schools would accept me with the NA Masters.
The Masters program requires a 3.0 to graduate, so I will have at least that.
