TESU LIB495 Cycle question - High_Order1 - 09-15-2017 Hey, trying to get this done, and it sounds like I am time limited. 1 - Is october the last capstone of the year? 2- Am I too late for an online (vs the guided study)? THey are all showing closed, but 0/15 3- Can I start capstone if I still lack credits? 4- will they let you capstone and portfolio at the same time? Thanks in advance!! (my ace in the hole in advising hasn't been responding.) RE: TESU LIB495 Cycle question - bjcheung77 - 09-15-2017 1) No. They have capstones for Nov and Dec. 2) You're not too late, just call them October 2017 Registration Dates: Aug. 18–Sept. 16, 2017 Late Registration: Sept. 17–24, 2017 12 Week Term Dates: Sept. 25–Dec. 17, 2017 3) You can start the capstone anytime you want 4) They'll take the credits as they come, no need to wait, do the PLA/Capstone together RE: TESU LIB495 Cycle question - davewill - 09-15-2017 Just to be clear, October is the last term that finishes before the end of the year. November is the last term that allows for a March graduation. If you want in the October term, you should call as was suggested, sometimes spots open up or sections are added... However, I think that picking the right mentor is an important factor in having a successful capstone. Some mentors are very helpful, others are not. Also, some can be sticklers about your topic, others more inclusive. You can find threads on here that talk about different mentors, and ratemyprofesor.com is also helpful. It might be better to wait a month and get the mentor of your choice rather than take whoever's left. RE: TESU LIB495 Cycle question - High_Order1 - 09-16-2017 Perfect! I'll take this month and October to knock out the portfolios. Probably won't need that much now that I kinda sorta 'get' what they're after. Then November for the capstone. I will start looking for the mentor most amenable (not necessarily 'easiest') to me. If you have suggestions and prefer not to say online, would you please consider messaging me? Is there a list of LIB495 mentors on TESU? Perhaps we could append that to the wiki. It would be beneficial to me, anyway, while researching. RE: TESU LIB495 Cycle question - davewill - 09-16-2017 I had Dr. James Cody and couldn't have been more pleased. Highly recommend him. RE: TESU LIB495 Cycle question - rlw74 - 09-20-2017 I had Professor Cody and loved him! He was very responsive, easy to work with and gave good directions. |
