TESU Updated Eval Question - ggabriele26 - 09-07-2017

Hello All,

Hoping someone can answer this question, I cant seem to find it in other threads. I just received my updated TESU Evaluation (Attached) and I have 85 credits toward my degree. It looks like TESU bumped two TEEX and an Intro to Business course into "Other Courses" even though they were my electives on my last update. (Last page of attachment))

Is it possible that the two courses in the electives section, Personal Finance and Principals of Insurance could meet general elective requirements? Or at least have any of the 7 credits in "Other Courses" count for anything? Not sure if anyone has had any success moving courses around to meet more requirements. I can call, or email, but wanted to know if anyone has dealt with something similar

Thanks!

I'm afraid there's no place for those courses. None of them are GenEds, so they can't go there. It's one of the downsides of the BSBA, there's not much room for random credits.

Yup, that's how it's going to look. If you feel your previous evaluation was better, you can always ask them the exact question. The Principles of Finance and Insurance course won't fit into Gen Ed, as those are non arts/science courses. You can ask them to see if they can move the two Cap courses to general ed and say they're CIS and see what they say.

Everything is based on the course prefix. So BUE, INS, and CAP are all considered Free Electives unless you are in a particular major where you can use those in the AOS.

For instance, if you were getting a BSBA in CIS, then the CAP courses might be able to be used there.

If you were getting the BSPS, you might be able to have one of your concentrations as INS and use 5 of those courses there.

But since you're getting the BSBA in GM, then you can't use those courses anywhere except Free Electives.

Makes sense. I thought so, but wanted to ask here before calling the school and going through an entire process for nothing.

Thank you all!
