Applied to TESU, do I need more credits? - Mab81 - 07-04-2017 I have only just begun my journey on this project - I only have one credit so far, on my ACE transcript, from the free Sophia course. Nothing else, no other credits (yet). I applied to TESU and have not heard back yet (likely due to the holiday) but it occured to me, are they going to require I have more credits before I can enroll? I know COSC told me they require 9... I didn't see any requirements on TESU's web site. I think someone on here said I may have to take a TECEP. Do they make you sign up for that right away? thanks! Applied to TESU, do I need more credits? - Gymfan15 - 07-04-2017 I don't know why they would, unless you are applying as a transfer student and there's a minimum transfer requirement. But I doubt it. It just takes TESU FOREVER to get back to you about anything, so I'd call them or wait it out. But wiser folks might be able to add more. Applied to TESU, do I need more credits? - bjcheung77 - 07-04-2017 Just leave it as is for now, there's no need for any credits, I didn't send my transcripts over to them until 3 months after I got accepted. I enrolled after 5 months, and that was by doing two TECEPS, they may ask for more credits/transcripts, but nothing to worry about. There's nothing stopping you to send them more details later when you have completed "more". I suggest get the FREE/ALEKS done now! Check the signature and follow that plan - heck, view my profile and read the "about me" section. It's got two templates, BALS/BSBA. Applied to TESU, do I need more credits? - rlw74 - 07-04-2017 You lose your 75 app fee and have to re-apply if you don't become enrolled within 6 months. So you'll want to take a TECEP to begin enrollment sometime in the next 6 months. It also locks in your catalog in case they make major changes to the degree program. Typically you wouldn't even need to apply until you have a lot of your coursework finished unless you plan to take classes at TESU or want to lock in your catalog. Is there a benefit to doing the free courses and ALEKS before anything else? I am working on some SL courses at the moment. I planned to do that for 2 months and then complete the rest of the free stuff. I anticipate ALEKS taking me quite a while because I have been out of highschool for 20 years and don't remember anything about my algebra classes... so I will essentially be re-learning it all. That's why I had gone ahead and signed up for a few SL courses that i felt i could complete more quickly. No, there is no benefit in doing the free courses or ALEKS first, but it was a recommendation to get the easiest out of the way. If you are doing SL first, go ahead and continue that until you're done. When you're at the point of the FREE courses or ALEKS, just work hard on them. It's 26 credits that can be done in ONE month, and the majority if not all of it will be in your general education and free electives. We recommend the free courses first because it's a path of least resistant to get people started, since you're already started... Also ALEKS has been extending month to month for so long we've been rushing people to get them done in case they end up dropping their ACE recommendations. At this point it seems they are sticking to it. |
